Internships

Internships provide an opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in an area of interest.

Arts Internship

The Arts Internship will equip you with a range of practical skills, built on the knowledge you have gained during your study.

  • What is it?

The Arts Internship is a six unit course designed for final year students. It gives you the opportunity to link up with an external organisation that aligns with your major study area and career aspirations. This usually involves spending up to a day a week in the organisation, providing you with hands-on experience to equip you with a range of practical skills.

The major focus of the internship is for students to undertake a specified project on a topic both relevant to the organisation and of interest to the student. The project culminates in a research report (of approximately 7,000 words) and interns deliver an overview to their supervisor/s and peers via an oral presentation. The organisation may then use the report in any way they see fit.

  • How do I Apply?

If you are interested in the Arts Internship, please submit an online application form for a placement commencing in July-October (second semester). Students are selected on merit.

Read comments from some of our host organisations.

I was delighted with the volume and quality of the material my arts internship student produced. I applied some of this material in developing a paper which I presented at the International Bar Association conference in Madrid. Shelley Dunstone, Legal Circles.

We were very impressed with our intern's ability to quickly grasp to scope of the project and to produce and extenstive database which our research team continues to utilise as one of our key research tools. Adelaide Convention and Tourism Bureau.

Working with a young undergraduate student enhanced the quality of the project results as there was oppurtunity for inter-generational interaction which in turn resulted in fresh ideas and a different perspective. Unley City Library.
