Feeling stressed out by University? We are one of the many support services available to students, based in the Faculty.

What do we do?

The Study Skills Support team can:

• proofread essays
• develop your research techniques
• advise on course selection
• improve your general study skills 
• advise on grammar and essay structure

Who are we?

The current member of the HUMSS Study Skills team is a recent graduate; consequently she has an excellent working knowledge of and insight into how the Faculty ‘works' and what resources are available to students.

Stephanie Hester: Went all the way with English, (Creative Writing), earning her PhD and the right to wear a fancy hat in 2009. Gaining a reputation as a Grammar fanatic; she also has a good store of facts that make her a popular ring-in for Quiz Nights.

The service is primarily for undergraduate students, but students at all stages are welcome to contact us. While times can vary in ‘peak periods', we aim to offer students a session that is the length of time that suits their needs.
