Enrolment

All students in undergraduate courses taught by the Discipline of English are enrolled through the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. There are entrance requirements for enrolment in the Faculty: usually a set result from highschool studies. However, other types of entry could include mature-age, status granted for work at other universities, or some equivalent recognised experience. Most entry applications are processed by SATAC (South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre).

Visit The Student Centre for this year's enrolment dates and procedures.

Students come to our undergraduate courses from a wide variety of backgrounds and in a range of different ways. Some students are undertaking a Bachelor of Arts degree, but others who are studying undergraduate courses in the Discipline of English may also be:

  • Undertaking different undergraduate degree programmes in the University (such as Media, Law or Science).
  • A cross-institutional student enrolled in a similar degree at another recognised university in South
    Australia.
  • An exchange student, or a fee-paying overseas student.
  • A member of the public enrolled through the University's Community Access Program, or as a Non-Award student (Non-Award students are assessed in the same way as other students, Community Access students are not).

There are slightly different requirements for Honours in English and Honours in Creative Writing. Please check individual English Honours and Creative Writing Honours programs for more information.
