Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Professor Nick Harvey, Executive Dean

Our programs are designed to provide graduates with cutting edge skills and attributes that make them job ready in the modern world. We have over 130 years teaching experience and reputation in Humanities and Social Sciences. Our lecture theatres and computer facilities are well-equipped and we have excellent library resources.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has some of the best staff in the country such as South Australia's first Federation Fellow Graeme Hugo (currently a Professorial Research Fellow), Nobel Laureate winner John Coetzee, and outstanding teachers who have won national teaching and learning awards.

Students are encouraged to follow their passion and aspirations when choosing their study. We offer six undergraduate programs and a number of double degree programs. Students can choose to study abroad at one of over 100 overseas exchange partners as part of their program. In addition, there are internship opportunities where students work together with potential employers and industry leaders on a research project.
