The Secret Life of Bacteria

ARC Postdoctoral Fellow Pamela Lyon raised eyebrows when she started researching bacterial behaviour for clues to understanding cognition. That work is featured in a segment of All in the Mind (ABC/Radio National), in which Pamela is interviewed together with microbiologists from the University of Chicago and Princeton.

The podcast and transcript of that program are available at the All in the Mind website.

Welcome to the Discipline of Philosophy at the University of Adelaide! Lecture times and venues are available in the 2009 Timetable.

Handbook

Everything you need to know about studying with us can be found in our Philosophy Handbook. Hard copies are available in the Humanities Office, Napier 722.

Philosophy Club Events

The University of Adelaide Philosophy Club has been in existence for more than 70 years. It is an exciting forum for discussing the wide range of issues with which philosophy makes contact. The club organises regular discussion evenings and other philosophy-related events.

For further information please see the club's website: http://www.adelaidephilosophy.com.

EU/AUS Student Exchange

The Philosophy Discipline is one of four Australian partners in the EU/AUS Network of Degrees in Ethics, Human Rights and Institutions. In 2009 the network will host ten European students in Australia. There are 10-12 funded places available for Adelaide students to travel to a European partner university for one semester of study. This study will be credited towards your Adelaide degree. For further information see: http://www.cappe.edu.au/EUAUS/.

Please send any expressions of interest or queries about the program to: garrett.cullity@adelaide.edu.au
