Welcome to the Australian Native Title Studies (ANTS) homepage...

ANTS is an initiative at the University of Adelaide to provide a national locus for research, academic training, professional development and collegiality in native title anthropology.

ANTS is committed to the academic training of anthropologists from which will form a platform for the development of court recognised expertise in the field of native title anthropology. of those who will become expert practitioners in the future. ANTS hosted the first meeting of course convenors to consider a national curriculum in native title anthropology. We are now taking a lead in a feasibility and development stage of that initiative.

ANTS contributes to professional development and support for anthropologists through the 'ANTS Nest', an online community, and by holding workshops and seminars.

ANTS actively links academic and applied anthropology by holding and publishing thematic workshops and colloquia. Currently ANTS is exploring ways to leverage native title claim research to advance Indigenous futures.   ANTS hosts a study leave scheme for native title anthropologists to undertake research and contribute to teaching in the field.
