The Spanish Discipline aims at producing research on cultural and artistic aspects of both Spain and Latin America. Some of the specific areas to be emphasized are:

• Ecological discourses and counter-discourses in Hispanic literatures
• the Spanish novel of the 20th Century
• literature, film and history of the Spanish Civil War
• Spanish society through Don Quixote
• revolutions and literature in Latin America
• Latin American pre-Columbian cultures.
