Why go to Uni?
There are hundreds of great reasons to study at university, but let’s start with three:
- A uni degree is a stepping stone to your perfect job
- Uni life will broaden your mind, sharpen your knowledge and
help you to grow as a person - A uni degree expands your options for the future
Before you choose a program, it’s important to identify the kind of career that interests you, and the jobs that will maximise your talents and strengths. What is your passion? What are your favourite subjects at school? Next, you need to discover the qualifications and skills required for your preferred career.
School careers advisers can help you to choose the uni course that’s right for you. They’ve got lots of info to help you decide what you want to do, where you want to study and the right high school subjects to get you there.
If you choose a ‘professional’ career (like a doctor, lawyer, accountant, engineer, scientist or architect) you must complete a uni degree. Again, your school career adviser will help with this.
University can be the most rewarding time of your life. With a little hard work, it can set you up for life, too. Many uni graduates go on to earn salaries higher than the national average.
